Walter Blackwood began his career as a Unilever Management Trainee, before moving into Warehouse Management with Tibbett and Britten.

Walter entered the world of Home Shopping in 1991 when he joined Grattan, where he ran their warehousing operation and subsequently took responsibility for the in-house distribution network, Direct Line. When Grattan and Freemans became Otto UK, the in-house networks were integrated to create Parcelnet, the largest courier-based network in the UK.

Walter joined Littlewoods in 2003 to head Business Express and subsequently Reality. He became Managing Director of Home Delivery Network Limited in 2005 following the merger of the two networks and Chairman in 2008. Home Delivery Network Limited is now the largest, specialist B2C parcel network in the UK delivering over 100million items to homes in every postcode…every day.
